If Linux can tease us with flashy animations and only use 128mb of RAM, I think we can too. Think about it. 512MB of RAM and 64mb Of VRAM to display Aero? It's a bit of wasteful resources. Too much polish slows down the average consumer, and when they are buying the bottom of the line Dell - it's not going to be pretty. My computer, a AMD Sempron 3000 OC'd to 2.26ghz, 512MB of DDR RAM and a AGP Nvidia GeForce 6600 256MB DDR2 400mhz would run Windows Vista at super slow! Why, why, why should a computer that is considered to be next to top of the line today be trash next year, rather then in five years? So, please Microsoft: think of the idiots out there! To sell your product, you need custom stuff and the lowest possible RAM and processor uses. Look at Windows 2000. I like Windows 2000, because it's NT and it's efficent. It's possible. |
