http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1154262,00.asp Where is it? Where are all the animations that use DX10 and my 500$+ GPU?` Instead we have shadows and transparency - stuff that you could get in Win98 with StarDock's WindowFX (shareware) program. It seems MS still doesn't get it. Eye candy sells. Just look at OSX. Under the hood stuff (new kernel, Indigo, Avalon...)...it's all "useless" if you can't get the buying public first interested in your product. And I'm sorry - Vista as it is now (with 5308), is on the outside just Windows XP.1. If you can't show on the outside (=UI) any progress in 5 years (!), it's pretty sad. Vista should be more than XP + MSN Desktop Search + OlutLook Express 6.1 and WMP11. All those could have been as easily put in XP SP3. Sorry, that's just the way it is. |
