Greetings Sandy, This isn't a built-in emoticon to Messenger, but Messenger allows you to add custom emoticons. As such, to remove this, open up a conversation window, press the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up the menu bar, choose the Tools menu, then Emoticons, scroll down, find this 'yes' emoticon, select it and finally choose Remove. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Sandy" <sandy_stephen@DELETEhotmail.com> wrote in message news:u5FJhkzGJHA.2408@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Today when I used messenger typing 'yes' produced an emoticon - is this new? > How can I override it? > > TIA > Sandy |

Hi Sandy, It's possible it was accidently added. For instance, if someone else sends you one, if you right-click on it and select Add, it will be automatically added to your emoticons. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Sandy" <sandy_stephen@DELETEhotmail.com> wrote in message news:2B9D6173-2FAD-4F9F-9492-1F4C0ABE03D9@microsoft.com... > Thanks Jonathan - don't know how it got customised, but it's gone now. > Sandy > > "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" <msnewsreplies@jonathankay.com> wrote in message > news:e5ZsInGHJHA.1160@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> Greetings Sandy, >> >> This isn't a built-in emoticon to Messenger, but Messenger allows you to add custom >> emoticons. >> >> As such, to remove this, open up a conversation window, press the Alt key on the keyboard >> to bring up the menu bar, choose the Tools menu, then Emoticons, scroll down, find this >> 'yes' emoticon, select it and finally choose Remove. >> >> -- >> Jonathan Kay >> Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger >> MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger >> MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com >> Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com >> (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation >> -- >> >> >> >> "Sandy" <sandy_stephen@DELETEhotmail.com> wrote in message >> news:u5FJhkzGJHA.2408@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >>> Today when I used messenger typing 'yes' produced an emoticon - is this new? >>> How can I override it? >>> >>> TIA >>> Sandy >> >> |
