::Hi Everyone:::

::I have read many of the posts on the \"Com Surrogate has stopped
working\" error and I::
::am having the same error when opening folders containing .avi
files.::
::I do not have Nero installed (I did have it installed a year ago or
so)::
::I have updated Divx::
::I downloaded InstalledCodec program (the replacement for
MMCompView) and disabled all Nero items on the list.::

::Is there any way to know which codec is causing a problem or narrow
it down? Maybe from details of Com surrogate error? ::

::I thought the installed /modified date would be a hint but it shows
no changes in past month and the problem is only days old. I would
rather not disable DEP::

::Would appreciate any suggestions::

::Thanks::

::::::Jaff::

What are the specifics of the fault information for that crash according to
the Problem Reports and Solutions Center control panel?
