Greetings Monique, There's a few possibilities for why this happened. Besides being deleted, your contact may have changed their Windows Live ID address, which will alienate the old history. To find the old one, open up any Messenger window, then press the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up the menu bar, choose Tools, then Options and then Messages category. Take note of the Message History folder and then finally go to it within Windows. Normally, it will be in a folder within the My Received Files within your Documents folder. Once you get there, you'll see a bunch of XML files which you can open within your web browser. Hopefully you'll be able to determine which is your contacts and open/archive what it is you're looking for. Also, if you're using Windows Vista or Windows Desktop Search on XP, you can also just use the search tools within Windows to locate these files as they will have been indexed. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Monique" <Monique@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:737766C1-D95D-4C81-8D7C-AF8C950B5B69@microsoft.com... > For some reason I lost the message History of one contact , tthe option when > I want to view it is not there anymore.
