Run the Disk Cleanup service. 3.Create an incremental backup of your most recent full system backup or create a new full system backup. NOW go for it. |

Its a completely sound and secure browser. Just like Firefox or Internet Explorer. They wouldn't release a browser publicly without working security. It's supposed to be so fast because it's completely multi-threaded so the UI doesn't have to wait for anything. Tom Lake |

I have converted its arse into a portable browser.. I hate installing crap just to see what they are like. I run it from a folder and can transfer it without installing it on other machines. That's what I do with most apps, at least those that can be converted to portable. I have gone for it as advised by Paul and, yes, it does seem weird. My desktop link points to: C:\Users\Doug\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe whereas I would have expected something like: C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\chrome.exe And in fact there are no Chrome files that I can see in C:\Program Files, yet Google Chrome is listed in the Uninstall List in the normal way. That said, it is user friendly, very fast and my websites look completely normal on it, by which I mean much the same as when using IE7 or the latest versions of Firefox and Opera. Doug |

But that would not account for its high speed on my ThinkPad with a single-core Pentium M processor (ie. no HyperThreading either). It seems very fast to download pages, not just render, or go back (History from local cache). I wish it came out earlier, in time to influence IE8 into being sleeker and faster. I like the idea of having no titlebar or statusbar as well. Mouseover links brings up a little tooltip in the statusbar area instead. Nice to have some fresh thinking in this very important field. ss. |
