Why is it that I can not access videos in Media Center on a USB or Firewire
HDD? It works perfect when the videos are on a Network share.

Hi
It is Not clear what is it that you are complaining about,
Do you mean that you can access a USB drive that is On the Media center from
another computer through the Network, but you can Not Access the same USB
Drive from the computer that the Drive is actually connected to?

First off, I am not complaining about anything. I am just looking for a
solution.

Media Center will not play .VOB files (What my cam camcorder recordings are
saved as) on a USB/Firewire external hard disk, shared over a network or
local on a computer. They play fine if they are homed on a network drive on
the media computer. Just, not on a external HDD.
