My question for Jonathan Key. I want to know and be sure that if I delete my mail address and sign up for it again, that makes remove all allowed and blocked contacts even if they have my address in their list? (in one post you wrote down something like that) It's really annoying situation that you have some contacts (spammers) in your blocked list and cannot be able to delete them permenantly. I want to delete them because it's really big problem for me. When I try to connect messenger from my WMobile PDA, I cannot. Why? Because in Turkey GPRS is not fast enough and my list (including blocked) is huge. I wish to delete blocked ones and maybe it becomes lighter then now. MS may serve this option to end users. Because it's required when your connection is not fast :) Thanks. -- Izmir University of Economics Department of Computer Engineering |

Greetings, Thanks for bringing that scenario up, I hadn't thought about that before (performance over slow connections). To directly answer your question, yes, removing your Live ID will completely remove these lists. However, for best results I suggest you close the account before you head to sleep at night and then create it again in the morning. Last time I checked, there is a delay before it's completely removed and your contact list may still remain if you create it again too fast. For reference, you can close your account here: https://account.live.com/CloseAccount.aspx Additionally, before closing your account you may want to save your main contact list to a file first and then import it back into your "new" account after you've created it again. You can find the options for both saving and importing your contact list by opening up the main Messenger window, pressing Alt on the keyboard to bring up the menu bar, choosing the Contacts menu and these two options should be at the bottom. In older versions of Messenger they are on the File menu. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Koray Yucel" <KorayYucel@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:DD36AEC7-0A1F-4E76-8778-1CA591FD4F4C@microsoft.com... > My question for Jonathan Key. > > I want to know and be sure that if I delete my mail address and sign up for > it again, > that makes remove all allowed and blocked contacts even if they have my > address in their list?
