I cannot install vs2008 sp1 (VS90sp1-KB945140-ENU.exe) on Win XP. The problem seems to be related to .NET framework 3.5 sp1 (which is included in vs2008 sp1). -I get the same error when I install sp1 for .Net framework 3.5. Heres what's in dd_dotnetfx35error.txt: [08/13/08,13:48:01] XPSEPSC Installer: [2] Error code 1603 for this component means "Fatal error during installation. " [08/13/08,13:48:01] XPSEPSC Installer: [2] Setup Failed on component XPSEPSC Installer [08/13/08,13:48:15] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates XPSEPSC Installer is not installed. Print spooler Service _is_ running (some references suggested that this might be the problem) Any ideas? |

I'm getting the same exact thing. Have you found any way to resolve this yet? I've tried just about everything I can, and am "this" close to having to reinstall my OS from scratch... Not happy about this at all. I've already lost almost 4 days of work because of this. url:http://www.ureader.com/msg/15462949.aspx |

I applied SP1 and had problems. I then ran this tool, redid SP1 and have had no problems (at least not there weren't there before). I think the tool is called something like Service Pack Preparation tool. LS |

This is almost certainly a Visual Studio problem. Don't reinstall your OS. -- John Saunders | MVP - Connected System Developer "CoderX" <nospam@nospam.com> wrote in message news:c28b1e079e724f86947349829470f944@newspe.com... > I'm getting the same exact thing.
