Have Home XP... with windows...computer 2 and half years old.

I doubt you have to update your video driver; more likely you need a
video codec (coder/decoder) for the video file in question. Try
downloading media player classic from here:

It can play a lot more video formats "out of the box" than Windows
Media Player.
