Every time I get updates, it tries to install this update and fails.
However, according to "installed updates" in is *already* installed.
See http://www.mewnlite.com/KB938371.jpg
There's quite a bit in Google about it but so far nothing that has
helped.
I got Service Pack 1 to install on the second attempt.
I'm getting tired of seeing that "failure" all the time.
Anyone here have an idea how to fix this?
Thanks

Maybe you could download the 938371
update from the following site to your desktop
and then install it:

http://tinyurl.com/6olo3s
or...
http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?FamilyID=695d7c32-252c-40e8-a15d-81029bec7d76&displaylang=en

No guarantees...but maybe it would be
worth a try to run the following reset tool:

Automatic Updates and WindowsUpdate Reset tool

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded both files.
I had already run the self installing KB938371 file and it hadn't worked
so I ran the reset tool, rebooted, and then ran the patch again. It still
didn't work.... "Failed to install"
Everything seems to be working OK. I'm just trying to get rid of that
pesky error all the time.

Go to Control Panel/Programs and Features, in tasks pane choose view
installed updates and delete it there and then try to reinstall, or simply
click hide it in pending updates window.

When I highlight that particular update, the "uninstall" option goes away.
I did get it hidden though.
Thanks.
