Sometimes Vista boots up alright on Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop. Other times, only dark screen. When I try again, Vista says Windows has had problem shutting down and gives me options to re-start Windows. I choose "start windows normally," and it usually works. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. |

Hi, I'd speculate that you have an intermittant hardware fault. If it's still under warranty, you should contact Dell. Otherwise, find a reputable technician as you likely have a faulty component. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "fredmertz" <fredmertz@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4DBAA82C-A66A-44ED-A4C3-BF2F8CCC4CB6@microsoft.com... > Sometimes Vista boots up alright on Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop.
