When I go through the installation process, and it tells me that the Adobe Flash Player has been successfully installed. When I go back to find it, it isn't there. I have the Adobe Reader, and that icon came up right away. Am I not looking in the right place or is it just not installed? I tried to read the info. about problems with this download with Vista, but I do give my permission to install the Active X. Please, can someone help me? -- Barb B. |

I replied to this one yesterday but it appears that the post got lost - well at least it isn't showing up on my newsreader. Apologies if this as double posted. Adobe flash player is a plug-in for Internet Explorer; you don't get a desktop icon. The flash player is needed to play video etc on websites. Open Internet Explorer, Click Tools on the toolbar (right hand side of Internet Explorer window). From the drop down menu Click hover your mouse over the 'Manage Add-Ons' another menu will appear. Now click on 'Enable or Disable Add-Ons.' When the 'manage add-ons' window opens look down the list for 'shockwave flash object'. If you can see that in the manage add-ons' window then Adobe Flash is installed. -- -- John Barnett MVP Associate Expert Windows Desktop Experience Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org The information in this mail/post is supplied "as is". Sometimes someone will reply to my post and I will know that they can see it even if I can't either in WinMail or in Google groups. Very annoying. |
