Ever since upgrading to Vista I've had a text display problem and I've tried everything I can think of to fix it and so far, nothing has worked. Finally, I created a new user account to see if I had the same problem, but I don't, everything looks fine. So my question is, can I import all of my settings, program shortcuts. mail stuff, etc. to this new account so that I don't have to start from scratch? And is there a chance that I'll just be transferring my old problem to the new account? Thanks! |

I would just copy over the data and import emails, etc. rather than copying the account settings in this case. Yes, you'll need to set up your email account(s) and import your addressbook and mail, but that way you'll be sure not to bring over the problem. Once you're sure everything is the way you want it, delete the original account. Make sure you've created an extra user account with administrative privileges for emergencies and are only using a Standard user account for everyday work in Vista.
