I downloaded a program called registry mechanic 7. Vista 32 bit wont execute the program to even install it. I tried compatability with Xp but still no joy. I went to delete it but each time i try I am getting blocked by the O/S with a message "Destination Folder acess denied" with a warning triangle and an exclamation mark no less! As i am the sole user and Administrator why is vista not allowing me to do this? I use avast antivirus and windows defender is on but can someone enlighten me what i will need to do to delete this application? -- thwartedthong |

Reboot the PC, then delete it. If you tried to install it, the file probably still thinks it's in use installing the software. A reboot should clear that up. -- Richard G. Either way just take ownership of the folder (and all sub folders) and all files and then reset the permissions to full control and delete. Do not hit Enter. Right click on the icon at the top of the menu and choose Run As Administrator. You should be able to uninstall. |
