I would suspect you either have a conflict on your system or you have one or more corrupted files. I just downloaded and installed the 8.3.6.0 update on my Vista x64 w/SP1 system and ran DiscSpeed.exe without any errors at all. The program ran the full disc check. Okay. I forgot about your previous posts on this. However, it apparently isn't peculiar to either Nero or Vista. A quick Google gave me references going back over 2 years with over 500 links.
