Hi maya, C:\Users\<user>\Application Data was and is a junction point, and appears as a shortcut because that's all it is. You cannot access these junction points as there is nothing actually in them. The correct folder you are thinking of is C:\Users\<user>\appdata. Normal.dot would be under: C:\Users\<users>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "maya" <maya778899@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:4ICdnWrut5UMHfPVnZ2dnUVZ_gudnZ2d@giganews.com... > hi, > > on ultimate, all of a sudden I can't access Application Data folder under > C:\Users\<Username>\ this is the first time this happens..
