hi, I'm on Vista Ultimate.. when Windows Explorer crashes I can't exit from it with Task Mgr, I can't even use "end process" to exit.. even when attempt to restart the machine, the machine just doesn't respond or hangs forever on "logging off.." only way to fix is to do hard reboot by pressing and holding power button... why does this happen.. and what way is there for this program to simply close when it crashes.... (I'm checking a bunch of blank CDs/DVDs I have piled up to see what content, if any, is in them.. if it's a "faulty" DVD (I was having problems burning DVDs, did a lot of tests, on the faulty DVDs is when Windows Explorer crashes and I can't close it or restart the machine.. now it seems to me no matter for WHAT REASONS Windows Explorer crashes there should be a way to simply close it so you don't have to do a hard reboot..) would appreciate solution/suggestions... thank you.. |

When did this start happening? If you know exactly when have you tried using System Restore to roll-back to that time period to see if Explorer stops crashing?
