I have Vista and Office 2007 and I have a question about file associations. For my .xlsx files it shows the default as Microsoft Offie Excel. I assume that is Excel 2007, which I don't want. I want to change it to Excel 97-2003 so all my Excel documents will open in that. So I try to change the program by clicking on the Change program... button and the only program there is Microsoft Office Excel. I'm not given the option to change it to 97-2003. I guess I'm stuck now...can anyone help me? |

You need to open them in Excel 2007 and do Save-As and save them in 97-2003 format. |

Office 2003 can load an add-on to read xlsx files. When you try to open the file, it will offer to install the add-on, assuming you have not disabled the update feature in Office 2003. If you prefer to not use update, you can go to the Office site and download the add-on. -- Please use the Communities guidelines when posting. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales/help/help_en-us.htm Mark L. Open the .xlsx file and save it in .xls format (by choosing 97-2003 in the Save As dialog).
