I had a very interesting test I performed yesterday. I have been having this problem for some time now and I think I pin pointed it down to my WLM account. I play an online game name Phantasy Star Universe by Sega of America. In the past I have been getting service interruption meaning the lights on my modem stay on but all PC's and game consoles in the entire network cannot communicate to the internet and are disconnected from there services. During the morning hours 07/01/2008 our internet service had been working fine. We have a Linksys WRT54G V5. As soon as I logged onto WLM and also my game no more than 10 min go by and BAM service interruption. I follow up with a ping to yahoo.com and also try to bring up Google my homepage and no luck, telling me there is a DNS issue. So in the past I used to force a public IP change and it seem to solve the problem. But yesterday not the case. I logged back into my game 2 min later BAM again no service. I all ready called my ISP and f**** that they know nothing. So I decided to do a series of tests. After my second disconnect I forced a new public IP change turned off my WLM and played fine for 1 hour no problems. So during this good spree of no interruptions I turned my WLM back on 5 min into a new mission BAM Service interruption. So I forced a new public IP change shut down WLM and played for 2 hours and had no trouble. So once again I turned on WLM and 10 min into the game BAM again Service interruption. At this point I had 3 suspected friends in my friend list that I suspected may be doing something strange. So I deleted the WLM account created a new one excluding the 3 suspects and I have been running the game all day with no trouble with the new WLM account working fine. Anybody got some input on this one??? :sarc: -- psu-clint |
