| Subject: Problem with Neverwinter Nights/Vista |

I recently purchased a copy of Neverwinter Nights Diamond Addition. I installed the game along with a patch that i was told i needed. The patch was actually from the Neverwinter site. I still can't get the game to work. It start out with the entire intro and game option screen but justs soon as you choos an option, the screen turns completely black. You can still hear the music though. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong other than not getting a different OS that will accept games like this. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Make sure you download the most recent drivers for your video card. Next, you can try compatibility mode (right click the program, and click the Compatibility Tab), and try running it as Windows XP SP2. Microsoft, in their not so great wisdom, shipped Vista with DirectX10 and not all the DX9 files needed that many older games need to run. Download DXwebsetup.exe from Microsoft and run that while connected to the internet. |
