I am having a problem with getting my mail acct going on vista. I have
installed msn and all the componets and when it asks me to sign in to my
amil acct the program goes in to an error loop and restarts in 1 minute
and I can't get it to quit. help!

Greetings Dale,

If possible, it would be really helpful if you can you be a little more specific about what
you're trying to do and the exact error messages that you're seeing.

Thanks for replying. In the process of getting vista up and running
and installing programs such as msn, it asks me to sign in to my
messenger acct. I go through all the steps, and when I click on the
button that says sign in automatically, Vista pops up with an error box
in the middle of the screen and says ( windows has encountered a fatal
error and will restart in one minute, save all work now. it also says at
the very top of that box ( you are about to be logged out ). I spent two
sessions with the hp help line ( 74min. & 78min ) . after the first one
was done, she said that I had to do a complete system restore, which I
did ( all the files and things I had put in..gone. After the second
session that man tried everything ( even remote access ) and when he was
done it still shut down with that error. He finally gave up and said he
would have to research this and call me back ( never did ). I am very
disgusted with this new operating system. At one point in trying to get
the computer to not shut down, he had me go in to msconfig and unselect
all the programs in services and in start-up. Now I have a computer that
doesn't do much. What a waste of around 700.00 for just the cpu. I have
the s3400f slimline
Also while I was online working to get it stay on, microsoft send me a
program update for messenger and bingo it went right back to shutting
down. even microsoft can't get it right.
thanks
Dale B.
