With reference to the response by Janathan Kay: http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/30739970/changing-the-default-loca.aspx It seems the the install .exe is not a windows installer where you can give a /a option to direct it to a custom path. If it is as easy as Jonathan said, then what about the registry foot prints; do they not have to be changed? OR does the latest Live messenger installer 8.5 allow to select the install path? |

Greetings Mike, You can't force the Messenger MSI to do what you want I'm afraid. I've tried unsuccessfully for awhile. There's nothing in the registry that points to the actual executable that's of any importance really. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2008 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Mike" <Mike@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A91D16F1-AEEB-4C2F-B10E-CFEF26CD5E7B@microsoft.com... > With reference to the response by Janathan Kay: > http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/30739970/changing-the-default-loca.aspx > > It seems the the install .exe is not a windows installer where you can give > a /a option to direct it to a custom path. > > If it is as easy as Jonathan said, then what about the registry foot prints; > do they not have to be changed? > > OR does the latest Live messenger installer 8.5 allow to select the install > path? > |
