if I go to this site http://www.checkmessenger2.net/en/z/check-messenger/ check my list. I have about a half dozen names on the list I would like to remove. Is there a way to do that? I don't have a hotmail, or live address i used my plain old dot com address. Thanks Rodger |

Open Windows Live Messenger (in a maximised window) and log on with your Live identity (if you not logged on already). Click on Tools / Options / Privacy. The options on this page allow you to see who has added you to their contact list - and block anyone who should not be there. As an added precaution, tick the box marked "only allow people on my Allow list to see my status and send me messages". If unwanted persons try to add your identity to their contact lists, you should receive an immediate warning, next time you log onto Windows Live Messenger. This provides an opportunity for you to block the interloper. You can't prevent other people from trying to add your name to their Messenger Contact Lists. Once they have tried, their names will appear in your privacy settings. However, that doesn't matter, as long as you have moved all unwanted names to the "Blocked List" AND to prevent future attempted intrusions, you have ticked the box marked "only allow people on my Allow list to see my status and send me messages". In recent years, no less than 32 unknown persons tried to add me to their contacts List - and I blocked every one of them immediately.
