I new to Vista I develop on an XP machine. I compile a program A.exe which comes in two flavours A.exe and B.exe. B.exe is compiled as A'.exe but with a compiler switch (conditional compile). Both programs are installed with Wise Installer but during the installation A'.exe is installed as B.exe. Everything worked fine under XP I installed both programs onto a Vista Home Basic machine with no change. Both showed a warning message at startup. I then added a UAC manifest and created a separate compiler project so that B.exe was compiled as B.exe. I found the whilst A.exe was installed and ran without a warning message B.exe would not UNTIL IT WAS RENAMED to A.exe - how strange is that! I have tried uninstalling using UNWISE and reinstalling but still no luck. B.exe will only run properly (without the startup warning0 if it is renamed to A.exe? It is as though vista has identifed B.exe has had a name change and won't run B.exe unless it is renamed to A.exe???? :( I assume the problem is on the Vista machine but could it be on the XP machine? Any ideas welcome. -- milkround Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |
