Hi, I installed VS over WinXP-Pro/SP2. After getting past a couple of initial failures, I got then got a notice the Document Manager had failed to install: "Installation failed for component Microsoft Document Explorer 2008. MSI returned error code 1603". Happily that error wasn't favorable. Does anyone know how I can add Document Manager? Re-running Setup doesn't seem to offer such an option. BTW, here are the first two errors I got, which were resolved using advice that Google uncovered: One error led me to discover that I needed to update Windows Installer, and that advice was coupled with an update link. The second error was a reported invalid checksum for some .cab file. Googling returned a site that indicated copying the disk to my hard- drive might alleviate the problem. Running Setup from there overcame the checksum problem. Best wishes, Richard |
