I posted earlier about how if I try to open up IE while playing Chess
Titans, the system will freeze within a few seconds (mouse won't move,
C-A-D won't work, and a hard reset is required). That happened twice.

Now today, I launched Chess Titans (with zero IE windows open), and
then I maximized the Chess Titans window. Within a few seconds, the
mouse stopped moving, C-A-D did not work, and I had to do a hard
reset. When Windows restarted, I opened up Chess Titans again,
maximized the window, and the same thing happened.

Why is it that I can only play Chess Titans if I do not open IE and I
do not maximize the window? Is it a problem with not enough video
memory? I have Aero enabled. My computer has an Intel E8200 cpu with 2
GB of RAM, and onboard Intel 3100 graphics. I cannot believe that I
would need to upgrade to a top of the line video card to play Chess.

Don't worry about chess in Vista, beat it 5 times in a row.

Try gnu chess. Much more of a challenge.

My home computer has a fairly powerful graphics card and plays Chess Titans
no problem with Aero enabled. My notebook with integrated graphics however
does not. I have to choose between Aero or Chess Titans because the game
graphics get very choppy and unresponsive with Aero enabled.

You don't need a top of the line video card. An 8500 or 8600 would suffice.

Good point. My GeForce 8500GT works good. Fanless version, quiet too.
