Suppose someone opened a hotmail email window as though he was going to type
and send a hotmail email. He selected Rich Text then pasted into the hotmail
email window a copy of a webpage. How could he save to disk the webpage that
is in the hotmail email window?

I don't know that it is possible, but have you tried right clicking and
selecting View Source?
If that works, you can cut/paste the code into a text file...

Have you tried saving as Rich Text format in WordPad? Saving as HTML in
Word would certainly work, if you have that. But using a proper HTML editor
and saving as an actual .html file (with its associated folder for graphics)
would be the best way.
