I'm running XP SP2 with IE6 and when I double-click the IE icon on the
destop I get no web browser, just another shortcut on the desktop that says
"Shortcut to Internet Explorer". I tried unchecking "Internet Explorer" from
the Customize Desktop panel of the Desktop properties and then rechecking it
to regenerate the icon but the behaviour persists. I've worked around it by
creating a shortcut myself on the desktop that points to my home page. This
works but I'm concerned that the strange behaviour might be symptomatic of
something bigger. Any ideas? Thanks.
