When I try to display a message in Deleted Items, I get the message "Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again." When I try to delete a message, I get a message that "An unknown error has occurred." There is no problem with disk space, and I removed a program that was using a lot of memory, but the problem is still there. Any ideas? |

Any ideas? In Windows Mail, unknown errors and undeletable messages are often due to interference from an antivirus program. What if any antivirus programs do you have? For a temporary fix, download and install this hotfix, with Windows Mail not running: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090 Although it's labelled for messages stuck in the Outbox, it also works in other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version of Vista or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version first. The Vista SP1 update contains this hotfix and more, but takes hours longer to install. |
