Hello everyone,
A link for my screenshot showing disk partition ( see link below ).
I'd like to know what the last one is for, the one I highlighted with
yellow. Thank you.

Hello Kristian,
I was Never offered to do backup to that partition. In fact I never
knew it even existed. I'll try to "open" that partion to see what's in
it -- if I can.

t-4-2 You do not "describe" your computer- the partition you about which you
are inquiring is empty and not assigned a drive letter - meanin you will no
be able to access it until one is assigned via Disk Management.

The HD is actually divided into three partitions - C, D and the 2,5 gig.
Strictly a quess here, but evidently the "D" partition was created after
purchase - usually the partition creating utility will create a "workspace"
for use in creating "free" space followed by creating the partition.

Hello AJR,
My laptop is a Dell inspiron 1420 laptop, Intel Pentium Dual-Core
Processor T2310, 2GB RAM, 120 GB hard drive, Home premium 23 bit.
I can vouch for this : the D partition was created Before the laptop
was purchsed. My son bought it directly from Dell ( not from local store
). Some one there might have made all those partitions, OR that's the
way the OS was set up. I don't know. To my understanding the D partiton
is for Recovery.
That leaves this question : if a drive letter is assigned to that 2.5
GB partition, what can I use it for ?? Can I use it for files backup or
stick to my external drive? Thank you.

No -- no fancy hidden partition was mentioned in my owner manual. Hell,
it hardly mentioned about hard disk drives.

Restore partitions are, at a minimum, 8 to 9 gigs - Disk Management
indicates your "extra" partition is "100%" free - in other words empty.

Use the partition as you see fit e.g. add it to D, you may have a problem
adding it to C - the system partition without using a third-party utility -
keep it and use for data.
