I am attempting to sign up for Windows Live using an existing e-mail address, *myname*@verizon.net. I check the radio button that says "Use your own e-mail address" and type my address into the box. I then get green text that says "Once you complete signup you will receive an e-mail message at *myname*@verizon.net with instructions for confirming your Windows Live ID." So far so good. I go through all the rest of the page, entering requested/required information. As soon as I click the "I Accept" button, I get red text that says "The portion of your e-mail address that follows the @ symbol is part of a "reserved domain" such as live.com, hotmail.com, msn.com or passport.com. Please type a different e-mail address." Why? |
