I launch VS2008 with a Start Page and have observed the connection for the Visual Studio Developer News (RSS feeds) is being lost. The feeds will load and then disappear to be replaced with this message: The current news channel might not be a valid RSS feed, or your internet connection might be unavailable. To change the news channel, on the Tools menu, clock Options, then expand Environment and click Startup. The default feed [1] loads fine in IE. So what's up here with VS2008? Has anybody else seen this? Any known way to refresh or use VS2008 to test the connectivity for the default feeds? As noted there is no other loss or interruption for browsers or other agents other than VS2008. I have VS2008 set to refrech the feed every 60 minutes.
