I've been running XP Professional from a partition on my hard drive for a while, and decided to see if my software will run on Vista now that SP1 is out. So I installed Vista on the second HD partition, and when running Vista couldn't access the My Documents folder on the XP partition. I then found that under Vista, you can Take Ownership of a folder (if you have administrative permissions), so I did that for the My Docs folder in the XP partition, and I now have access from Vista to my XP partition docs. Problem is, when I boot under the XP partition, and I'm locked out of all of my files in My Documents ("Access Denied"). Under Vista, I've tried allowing Sharing of the folder on the Network and all kinds of things, but everytime I boot under XP I cannot access My Documents folder. Since I was only testing Vista, I really need to access my files from XP. How do I do this?? -- Ed |
