I know this is not really a dev question, but I am a developer so this is where I know to post... I just installed Vista on a brand new laptop. Installed Visual Studio, Office, etc. All was well. Took my laptop to the office and connected to the network, no problem. Now I have two user name/password combinations on this machine. I logged into the user name/password within my domain at the office and created a directory for a talk I am giving TOMORROW. I put the ppt and all associated Vista demos into the directory. I tested the ppt and several of the demos. No problem. Disconnected. Took my computer home so I could practice more tonight and the directory is GONE. My PPT is GONE, My demos are GONE. The desktop icons I set up are GONE. Where did Vista create all of this stuff and is there ANY way to find it again? Just to try it ... I tried logging in under both user name/passwords (one for the domain and one not). The directory was not there in either case. |
